Drinking Tequila or Agave products in a flight is a great way to sample multiple products at one sitting. There are quite a few tequila bars and mexican food restaurants that have them available to their customers. We also do them at home with friends and family when new Agave products hit the shelves. This is also the perfect way to introduce someone to Tequila, as odds are they will taste something that they don't like, but also something that they do. Typically flights consist of 3-5 quarter shots.
There are several types of flights you can do, and here are a few examples:
Vertical Tequila Flight
This allows you to try 3 products from the same brand of tequila. For example, take 3 shot glasses and pour a quarter or half shot of Republic (organic) Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo.
Horizontal Tequila Flight
This allows you to try 3 products that are the same type of tequila, but different brands. For example, take 3 shot glasses and pour a quarter or half shot of Herradura Reposado, Casa Noble Reposado, and Gran Centenario Reposado.
The Spirits of Mexico Flight
This allows you to try 3 products that are all made in Mexico, but different spirits produced from different plants. For example, take 3 shot glasses and pour a quarter or half shot of Don Cuco Sotol, Del Maguey Chichicapa, and any brand/type of Tequila. This flight is a great introduction to Agave products.
The Tequila.net Favorite Flight
My personal favorite, but I go for 5 shots. 1921 Reserva, Los Abuelos Blanco, Don Pilar Anejo, Don Valente Blanco, and 3 Amigos Blanco.
