The nose on this very affordable anejo is a delight. It begins soft and floral, then opens up into sweet toffee and caramel that's almost Don Julio 1942-esque. Taste has earthy agave, vanilla, and the mere essence of woodiness, like a polite dab of cologne. There's a spicy bitterness that works exceedingly well with the agave sweetness, leaving a soft peppery numbing on the tongue. The plain-Jane packaging and lower price-point risks it being overlooked as a serious tequila, but rest assured this is a surprisingly top-flight delicious anejo. A definite keeper.

A taste of dry oakiness, earth, and raw vegetal flavor. There is some sweetness if you let it sit on your tongue long enough, but still oaky for the most part. A medium weight and mouth feel, with a decent coating and slight numbing. A quick, unremarkable finish of lingering oak, earth, and vegetables.

This is a good bargain brand anejo. I don't normally think of mixing with anejos, but this might be good for an Old Fashion, Sazerac, or Manhattan as a 'well' brand. I think I paid low 20s for my bottle, which is actually a good price for what you get. The bottle is simple and easy to pour bottle, with a wooden screw top. It has a sort of a cartoonish clear sticker, though.

Thus far, I've found them all to be very nice and well priced tequilas. Let's hope the anejo follows in line.

Aroma: Buttery cooked agave with a hint of spice and vanilla.
Initial Taste: Creamy vanilla custard, a hint of spice and faint smoke. Very unique.
Body: The body has a full/rich thickness to it. There's a nice balance of agave, oak, vanilla custard and spice (cloves). Not too sweet, not too bitter. There’s also a hint of smoke that makes it unique.
Finish: A medium length oaky linger with a bit of agave sweetness and spice. The spice and oak flavor are most prominent in the linger. There's no burn on the linger...really easy to drink.

3 Amigos has impressed again. For under $30, this is a really good value and a good tequila for starters or aficionados. I'd definitely recommend picking this up.

I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. The bottle has a unique design so it truly stands out on any shelf. 3 Amigos ages their Anejo for two years which causes it to be a pale yellow golden color. Intense aromas of this tequila include floral accents that are followed by moderate notes of fruit and mild notes of vanilla. In the mouth, the Anejo is light and mellow. While the tequila is sweet, there is no bitterness. When examining the flavors of 3 Amigos Anejo, first impressions include moderate to intense agave, fruit, and floral accents. On a second sip, I noticed moderate flavors of vanilla. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste mild notes of wood and hints of earth, spice, and caramel. Finishing with a long duration of flavor and a nice slight numbing alcohol intensity, this tequila is found to be a very light refreshing Anejo perfect for summer. I awarded 3 Amigos Anejo the rating of 90/91 points out of 100.

Not your typical anejo. What I mean is it has a little more bite to it that most anejos I've tried. An excellent sipper to be enjoyed! Maybe I'm just a big 3 Amigos fan!

Aroma: Pleasant woody agave, and spice.
Initial Taste: On tip of tongue, there is a slight bitterness, followed by sweetness. A thin mouth feel.
Body: Wood, agave, vanilla, spice and earth.
Finish: A heated buttery finish of medium duration.

Initial tastes of agave and wood, with vanilla and light caramel body. A smooth and balanced finish with a short and heated buttery aftertaste.
