Aroma- Sweet agave with oily caramel, and a slight pepper finish. Initial Taste- Oily, buttery, semi sweet agave, very mute. Body- Lingers on your palate with caramel, and peppery agave. Finish- Finish is short and sweet, more of a low to medium body. Enjoyability- This tequila is a solid anejo for the price. I prefer a fuller bodied anejo. I suspect they are re-using there barrels several times. Purchased a bottle after trying the flight with a rep. For the price at about $60 a bottle it is good, but there is better quality products around the same price. ]]> Fri, 13 Dec 2013 03:56:57 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2913 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2913 I really liked the repo, so was looking forward to the anejo, but this was a bit of a disappointment in the end. Loved the nose on this: sweet, fruity, a hint of bubblegum?. There was also a bit of caramel, oak, and mint - a lot going on. Once in the mouth, bitterness took over the sweetness and fruit, and maybe a tiny bit of sourness. There was a slight tingle on the tongue. Body was thin. Finish was quick and dry with tannins and continued bitterness. This anejo started so promising with a great nose, but lost me once it hit my mouth. If this were a budget or bargain brand, it might be more tolerable, but in this price range I expect better. ]]> Thu, 20 Jun 2013 13:00:41 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1672 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1672 After seeing this in one of the local Co-op Liquor stores (alberta canada) at $65 I thought the pricing was a mistake as all of the other anejos typically start in the $90 range. I bought it thinking the bottle was cool and it had to be a pretty good deal. My first tasting wowed me, the oak was not overpowering and the caramel was buttery sweet. If this is what Anejo was then I was hooked. (Typically drinking blanco's prior to this) Of all the bottles I have now this is one that keeps me coming back. Great finish which isn't too harsh. Great presentation (people always comment on the bottle when its sitting out with 10-12 other Tequila's). I don't know why I haven't bought the blanco or reposado yet considering I must have purchased 20 tequilas since, I think its because I love this one so much I'm concerned the others won't match up. Highly recommend! ]]> Mon, 13 Sep 2010 15:33:59 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1546 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1546 Bought 1/10 on the advise of a friend, paid $60.00. Sampled from a 6 oz shot glass, neat. Aha Toro Anejo NOM-1079, first thing you'll notice is the fantastic bottle, it's a beautiful red with a stamped metal insert/label and a very nice synthetic cork that does a good job of closure. In the glass this anejo is a nice amber, the nose is weak, minimal agave and no alcohol. Leaves fast legs and forms small tears very quickly. Aha Toro is medium thin in the mouth and the first sensation is a sour note quickly followed by the alcohol burn that slowly begins to form on the roof of the mouth. Nice heated finish that has enough staying power to numb the tongue after a few oz's. Leaves a oak tinge in the mouth. Aha Toro is not real complex, and I'm not a big fan of sour in tequila or the fact that the nose is so faint. Presentation is the big draw here, after that it is down hill from there. I'll keep the bottle, but won't buy again. ]]> Thu, 27 May 2010 15:08:55 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1393 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1393 Aha Toro Anejo * Tasted February 2010 * Riedel Tequila Glass Appearance: medium amber - full body and thick tears Aroma: woody agave with light vanilla and caramel Initial Taste: sweet agave and a hint of chocolate Spirit Body: sweet agave, light oak, caramel and vanilla Finish / Aftertaste: cool, sweet agave and vanilla finish and long aftertaste ]]> Mon, 01 Mar 2010 03:25:09 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1371 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1371 This is the first aƱejo I tryed and I still like it a lot. It's very smooth and you'd probably want to try it a few times before you discover all the flavours. The price kicks off around 70$ where I live and even tho it's alot, I'd defenitly buy it again. ]]> Wed, 17 Feb 2010 14:55:23 +0000 <![CDATA[Aha Toro Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1085 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=1085 Way cool bottle led me to try this tequila. Unfortunately the presentation was better than the delivery. It was a bit flat on the taste, almost sour with weak body. It would do fine for a tequila at a lower price...but not at the $9 a shot it was going for when I tried it... ]]> Wed, 15 Apr 2009 00:16:55 +0000
