Dark, rich and very thick. Fantastic nose - big agave, caramel, some roasted nuts - which leans toward a sharp bitter spicy earthy sweetness. Many things going on in the taste: agave, vanilla, fruit (soaked raisins?). Very complicated; hard to make it all out it's such a complete well-formed package. A spicy warm finish, more horizontal than vertical, that keeps going. Sweet oaky notes remain once the spice starts to fade. This is a full-bodied beautiful tequila from pour to finish. A class act. And a great old-style presentation, complete with straw-lined wood box, like something salvaged from a sunken armada. Makes for a great gift. For yourself ;-) ]]> Sun, 07 Jul 2013 14:53:26 +0000 <![CDATA[ArteNOM Seleccion de 1146 Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2576 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2576 I finally got around to opening this bottle this past weekend. What a treat! Just a really nicely crafted anejo. Aromas of agave and spice, taste of agave, caramel, spice and wood. Just excellent. ]]> Mon, 16 Jul 2012 18:07:20 +0000 <![CDATA[ArteNOM Seleccion de 1146 Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2506 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2506 Aroma-Nose:Carmel,vanilla,olives,cherry Initial Taste:Wooow what a great anejo i knew this was going to be good coming from nom 1146.So it has long legs slight sweet but in a good way taste of vanilla, carmel, and a lil mint, very smooth with a nice lingering aftertaste of agave.I lucked out and found 2 bottles at bevmo i had to buy both because this is a rare tequila at $52 per bottle what a steal.I would put this up there with the best its really a extra anejo blend aged in french oak.I highly recommend this tequila if you can find it lol.. ]]> Sun, 03 Jun 2012 12:50:29 +0000 <![CDATA[ArteNOM Seleccion de 1146 Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2495 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/anejos/discussions/review.html?id=2495 A cool idea for a brand and tequila from a great distillery. I had to give it a try. Aroma: The nose is one of the best I've ever smelled. It almost fills the room with a rich agave, spice and butterscotch smell. (Think Don Julio 1942) Initial Taste: Vanilla and baking spices. A very nice entry. Body: Really dark and thick body. Coats the glass and your mouth well. Flavors of Agave, spice and butterscotch are the most present with hints of flowers and fruit. Really complex and wonderful. Finish: Very smooth. No burn at all on the finish and the flavors stay with you nicely. The fruit comes out a little more on the finish along with a bit more oak. Really a wonderful tequila. Well crafted, great nose, complex flavors, very drinkable. I can't think of a valid critique of this tequila. It's certainly worth the price because it's overall taste is as good or better than most out there in the ultra-premium price range. If you can find it, go out and get this one. ]]> Sun, 27 May 2012 02:28:16 +0000
