Without a doubt, the most exquisitely packaged tequila I have seen, from box to bottle you can't wait to try this tequila. On the nose you get a very unique blend of scents from hazelnut and caramel to (believe it or not) some cherry. The body was not in your face like say Casa Noble Anejo (I prefer less in your face) very pleasant and really a bit different because I find it almost rich. Although overall I really enjoyed Uno, I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of finish it just doesn't seem to have much finish. Would I buy this again, absolutely, do I like the value for the money, eehh. The presentation is second to none and although the tequila is really good I just don't think it is "the One".

I have tasted this tequila on 3 occasions. Once from a new bottle which I purchased and twice from open bottles in a bar. One of the bar tastings was completely different to the point I'm suspicious that it was actually Uno so I am discarding that experience. Frankly though, the previous 2 ratings seem like the 1 odd tasting I had. Based on the 2 common tastings I find myself disagreeing somewhat with the previous 2 ratings. I found the aroma a bit sweet with vanilla and caramel and only a mild toasted oak scent. Not overbearing at all. I was a little surprised at the lightness of its color for its age but am seeing more and more color variation in anejos as of late. Initial taste confirmed the caramel aroma with a sweet with mild fruit that transitioned into a a slightly slightly smokey flavor and finishing with hints of White pepper. The price is a bit high and hurts this rating but overall I found the flavors distinct but mild and quite enjoyable.

Cabo Wabo Uno Anejo NOM 1467 Tasted on 5/1/07 at 3:30pm. I opened this bottle, which cost me $257, in a limo on a trip to San Francisco and tasted it in a Riedel glass. While this bottle has a crystal decanter and comes with a wooden box, it is the tequilas quality versus price that harms this tequilas rating. In the quality versus price section of the rating sheet this tequila received a below average score. With a golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of caramel. Other aromas include moderate earth, vanilla, and floral with a mild fruit. The tequila has a medium mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with a lot of bitterness. I was shocked at how bitter this tequila was. Most of the passengers in the limo stopped drinking the Cabo Uno and moved to something else. Cabo Wabo Uno Anejo has numerous arrays of flavors due to its 38 months of aging. Intense flavors of caramel, agave, and vanilla are followed by moderate notes of fruit, wood, and floral. With a medium to long duration of flavor, tastes of mild earth and chemicals with hints of spice and smoke bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Cabo Wabo Uno Anejo has received the rating of 90/91 points out of 100.

Uno had a lot of hype ,prior to it's arrival, i'm just sorry it didn't live up to it. The initial aroma once open was very strong that of a mesquite smoke, along with a sweet floral scent, not a good poppouri combination, initial taste was rather dissapointing, too bitter, and did not pass through well, smoothness was no surprise, raher flat and harsh, even the color was all wrong, after sitting in a barrel for so long, you would think a rich dark tequila would be produced. The only thing i like above all was the simple, but elegant bottle design...Sammy, what happene? good thing you got out when you did.

Tasted on Xmas eve! Out of a snifter, more than once!

My uncle got a bottle of this from a customer and I was more excited than he was (he is not a tequila drinker). Anyway, I tried it although it was nice and smooth, there was nothing special about it or anything that stood out about it. It has a nice fruity nose. The body was also fruity with hints of oak and slight cinnamon, but I detected almost no agave in the body. This is where I lose interest. I think even though a product is aged longer, it should retain some agave presence.

There was a very subtle finish that left me feeling this product is a bit overpriced. Im not a big of the cabo line, and this product leaes me feeling the same way. You're not missing anything here, IMHO.
