The aroma isn't all that great, but when it hits the palate, it's a great mix of tastes that make for a great tequila. Aroma: Not a strong agave nose, a bit of smoke and earth. Initial Taste: A slightly sweet entry. A bit of spice and earth as well. Body: This is where this one shines. It's filled with cooked agave, smoke, cinnamon and earthy flavors. Finish: A nice long lingering with the smoke and spice. This one lets you enjoy it long after it's been swallowed. At $40, this one is a great one to go out and buy and compare and contrast with other medium to high end tequilas. Strictly a sipper. Because of a spice and smoke, I don't think this one would mix as well as others. Nice rustic bottle, cork top, looks old school. Color is a medium straw, runs down the glass quick and the legs quickly gather on the sides signaling too little time in the barrel for an anejo. Nose is unremarkable, does not change regardless of time in the glass. Very thin in the mouth, sets uncomfortably on the tongue and has a better than expected finish. Leaves an numbing on the tongue that lingers nicely. Not bad, don't get me wrong, it a quality tequila, just lacks some of the details of a fine anejo. A great anejo from a great line. A golden amber color and nice legs. This is one to savor! One of the younger anejo IMHO, but still great! Aroma: For the record, lots of earth, smoke and cinnamon. Off the record, orange colored tic tacs. Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel. On first sip, its sweet with only a slight bitterness. Initial taste of floral and earth. Body: A great body filled with cooked agave, earth, cinnamon and floral. Lighter notes of smoke. Finish: A semi heated finish of medium duration. Lots of agave with cinnamon and pepper. It's a very young anejo, but don't let that fool you, it is very smooth. The finish is very mild not much alcohol burn and very refreshing. You won't be disappointed, I give it a B+ or A-. This tequila however, has a great body and finish. It is very smooth with a silky texture going down past the palate. You would sip this tequila like a very fine cognac and share it with only the closest of family or friends.
