taste - There is heat/spice from beginning to end. It is not overpowering and adds much interest to the wonderful tequila flavors that Dulce have made sure to keep intact. The heat and spice are long lasting and enjoyable. This tequila is not complicated, yet it holds those simple things we love about tequila and does them so well. A masterpiece anejo to be enjoyed!

Ended up drinking several shots of this stuff, just a delightful and amazing anejo. I am about the taste more than anything else and the initial hit is a smooth earthy taste of uncompromising blue agave deliciousness, which builds during the middle part. And at the end you are left with nothing but a long lasting finish that just keeps on rewarding. I have had alot of tequilas and this one is probably the highest value out there. Just a bold statement of great tequila taste for the money. Enjoy it because i have bought several bottles and still do!

Thus far, the blanco and reposado havent necessarily been my cup up tea with their big herbaceous notes, but they have a ton of flavor and are unique and well crafted. With the 100 proof and the flavor profile you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the brand. I said in the lesser aged reviews that I thought the añejo might be the sweet spot for me for this brand. Let's find out...

Price: $50-55/bottle

Aroma: Loads on vanilla and caramel sweetness on the nose with hints of oak. Desserty aroma to start.

Initial Taste: A sweet richness with oak notes up front. Creme brulee type notes with just hints of bitter chocolate.

Body: Medium-thick bodied with nice oily mouth feel. The oak comes forward more with some spicy notes.

Finish: Black licorice flavors on the finish. Nice pepper notes too and just enough sweetness to balance it out.

While anise isn’t really a go to flavor for me, this is cool and tasty tequila. The rich dessert flavors are balanced out with agave and spice. The herbal notes from the younger expressions are tamed a bit and the reach a really nice balance. To me, this is easily the star of the Dulce Vida lineup. And at 100 proof, the flavors are bold and the finish is long. A very nice effort!

To begin: A giant deep dark roasted nutty caramel nose. It actually wafts towards you from the glass. The smell alone is award-worthy. The mouthfeel is big and thick, matching the dark amber colour of the anejo. Taste offers more cooked caramel, fruit, a touch of wood, and lots of agave. A textbook definition of perfectly balanced. This is an incredibly flavourful yet easy-drinking 100 proof. Then the finish strikes, like the slow rush of a snakebite, hot and spicy venom doing a marathon Day of the Dead dance on your tongue. This tequila is a beautiful monster that has become my gold standard for all other tequilas. Epic and magnificent.

A fairly "hot" tequila as one might expect at 100 proof, but still very easy to sip. Nice bottle, too. Should be a welcome addition to any anejo lover's bar.
