El Tesoro Anejo NOM 1139 Tasted on 4/26/07 at 5:00pm. I tried this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento, CA. 1.5 ounces of El Tesoro Anejo ran me $10 and I tasted it in a snifter. With a pale yellow golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral, fruit, and earth. Other aromas include moderate caramel and spice followed by mild vanilla. The tequila has a medium-to-oily mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with mild-to-moderate bitterness. El Tesoro Anejo has intense aromas of earth, floral, and agave followed by moderate notes of fruit. With a long duration of flavor, tastes of mild vanilla, caramel, and smoke bring this tequila to a numbing finish. El Tesoro Anejo has received the rating of 92 points out of 100.

This is one of the first premium tequilas that I ever bought and sipped. It's a good solid tequila with no special tastes that make it unique. It's just agave, wood and spice and the basics of what tequila lovers all look for in good juice.

Aroma: The least pleasant part of this one. Maybe a bit more alcohol smell than I wanted, but it opens up after sitting for a while.
Taste: A good solid mix of agave and oak. No other tasting notes that are particularly noteworthy. It's a medium body that is not too oily.
Finish: Just like the taste throughout. Pleasant, wood and nice agave flavor.

It's a solid all around tequila. For $35, it's a good deal. For $50, I'd rather buy something else. It's fairly easy to find, so it's a good one to recommend to new people looking for a good solid sipper.

This one started me om my passion for Tequila. The best value out there. Its oak finish is smooth with a little bite. It is not to heavy and its finish is spicey. Its wood aroma is what draws a non tequila drinker in. A great bottle to open on poker night. I always have a bottle in reserve.
