Agave is somewhat noticeable. Initial Taste: Hits you with spice right away, it is a nice clean taste. This is the best part of the experience. Body: At this point it goes down hill. Mine was almost unrecognizable as a blanco and had next to no agave flavor, perhaps a causality of the triple distillation process. It then gets almost bitter with a fairly strong alcohol burn. Finish: Like most other reviewers, I would state this does not have a lingering finish and the alcohol burn dissipates quickly. The price is decent for what you get ($29) and the colored cork is a plus. All in all this was the first triple distilled blanco I found to be almost unrecognizable as a tequila. While I would try this again, just to be certain my batch was not bad, I would highly recommend triple distilled marks like Arta and Corzo for a blanco in that category. ]]> Mon, 27 Jan 2014 08:58:35 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2257 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2257 This is one of my favorite blancos at a very reasonable price. Aroma: The nose in unremarkable, but smells clean and fresh. Initial Taste: Clean agave flavor with nice spice notes. Body: Light body with the same sweet and lightly spicy notes. Finish: Great finish that is much like the rest of the drink. It's just a really refreshing tequila. Can be sipped or mixed in a premium margarita. Cool bottle too. ]]> Mon, 23 Jan 2012 06:24:12 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2228 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2228 So looking at the reviews here it looks like I might be in the minority. I found this to be a good blanco but not exceptional. Some times I find that the more times they distill the product it strips out some of the character and I found that the body of this didn't have a tonne of character. The nose was really quite pleasant agave(as you would expect considering the distilation and the being a blanco) but not really anything else. The initial taste was again pleasant but not overwhelming, citrus with a lot of lime and a touch of tar. The finish was clean, but a little too clean, really not much body to it at all. I know that is what you look for in a blanco but it just seemed to leave me unsatisfied. There was a fairly long linger alcohol linger. There just seemed to be an overall lack of character in this bottle for me. The presentation was quite nice again not my favorite but a bit of a unique closure and the "hammered" glass is nice. ]]> Tue, 17 Jan 2012 23:36:35 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1813 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1813 Very good Tequila, a rarity in that it is a "sipper" at a great price ($29), I prefer it out of a snifter. Don't recommend this for shots (should you be so inclined to "shoot" Tequila...true Tequila drinkers don't shoot, they savor and enjoy!). Excellent bargain, good Tequila to have others try who are not true Tequila drinkers, this will bring them into the fold. ]]> Fri, 11 Feb 2011 19:40:15 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1210 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1210 I used a medium size snifter for this tasting. For me, the nose was earthy and 100% Agave, lot's of Agave. My first sip kind of caught me off guard, it was much more intense than I expected. The hit of Agave is overwhelming. I am talking a pure, powerful Agave attack. If there were other flavors present, I did not pick them up on the first sipping. On my second sip, the Agave was still there in spades but far less aggressive. This time I also picked up very distinctly, spicy cinnamon nuances. I really liked that. After letting it set for about five minutes, I went back to it and this time the Agave was very prominent again, as was a kind of peppery, yet fruity flavor profile. I also enjoyed that very much. A few minutes later I finished off the shot and again the Agave is there and this time the cinnamon returned but almost no spiciness. This time the smoothness was very evident, as were hints of other fruits but nothing seemed distinct. The finish seems exceptionally long with a fair amount of warmth back down the throat, along with lingering hints of cinnamon. This is a great sipper IMHO and because of the intense up front agave flavor, it makes wonderful margaritas. ]]> Fri, 17 Jul 2009 20:04:06 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1199 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1199 Tasted out of a snifter on 07/2009. This is a solid tequila for a great price ($30). One of my favorite blanco's, smooth, spicy, and great agave taste all over the place. Aroma: strong agave, hints of spices, pepper. Initial taste: a clear sweet agave taste. Body: agave and here I started getting hints of spices. Finish: a mild sweetness, a lovely mild burn, and nice and spicy at the end. I was very impressed with this blanco. Most of my triple distilled experiences have been a little lackluster. However, this blanco was great. A lot of depth and character. A great sipper, and a great bargain (I paid $35 for a bottle). Aroma: A light nose of fruit, floral. Initial Taste: Upon entry, it's sweet with no bitterness. A thin mouth feel. Body: A very nice agave body with hints of fruit (mostly pear) and floral. Finish: A nice semi heated finish of medium duration. ]]> Sat, 23 Aug 2008 16:55:14 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=470 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=470 I was not impressed at all with this tequila. As far as I'm concerned tequila is supposed to have flavor and this had none. It wasn't the slightest bit aggressive at any stage of the tasting process and the initial taste and body were almost exactly the same which was a totally watered down spirit with the slightest hints of flavor that might have been there before the third distillation. yes it was super smooth but mainly because there is nothing there. It's like drinking water or vodka for that matter. They distilled the flavor right out of it. I'm actually shocked it has such a high rating here. ]]> Tue, 12 Feb 2008 06:51:17 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=397 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=397 Don Eduardo Tequila Silver, NOM 1110. Crystal clear in color. Sweet spice & agave nose. Sweet fruit with citrus aftertaste evolving into light cinnamon & pepper. Extremely clean & smooth with a slightly hot, middle to back of the tongue finish, leaving with a floral, totally memorable taste sensation. Absolutely no alcohol smell or taste from start to finish, only the essence of agave. A+, top shelf. Quite a remarkable tequila experience. ]]> Sat, 17 Nov 2007 16:30:53 +0000 <![CDATA[Don Eduardo Tequila Silver: ]]> https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=244 https://www.tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=244 Don Eduardo Silver ? NOM 1110 ? Tasted on 6/15/07 at 5:00pm. I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento, CA and tasted it out of a snifter. The tequila is clear in color. Don Eduardo Silver aromas consist of intense earth and fruit aspects followed by moderate floral and spice. On the lighter side, this Silver has mild smoke. On the tip of tongue, this tequila is mellow and has a medium mouth feel. While the tequila has moderate-to-heavy agave flavor, it is sweet and has only a hint of bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains intense flavors of earth and fruit followed by moderate to intense fruit. Deeper flavors of Don Eduardo Silver consist of hints of spice. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a medium duration of flavor and a tingly alcohol intensity. I have rated this tequila at 90 out of 100 points. ]]> Sun, 17 Jun 2007 19:45:14 +0000
