It was very smooth with very little to no burn at all. Not being used to the flavor of agave I have to admit I was taken aback by the initial smell, but from the first sip I have enjoyed it. I don't think I could have chosen better for the price point, only paying $16. I have to say that I agree with a previous review that stated they don't understand how they can sell a mixto for the same price or the re was some even more expensive. I'll never buy anything less than this as long as its available in this area. I admit I'm no expert, but I would recommend anyone to try this that wants to try tequila. ]]> Wed, 09 Jul 2014 22:03:56 +0000 <![CDATA[El Ultimo Agave Tequila Blanco: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2497 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=2497 For the price, this is a must try for veteran tequila drinkers or those just getting into the game. It is the most commonly lauded value brand of 100% agave tequila by tequila drinkers that I talk to. At under $15 a bottle, it's amazing that mixto silvers can sell with this on the same shelf. Aroma: Fruit agave with nice pepper on the nose as well and a hint of alcohol. Initial Taste: A nice sweet agave entry. Hints of citrus and earth cause a light bitterness. Body: Fairly thin. Body has a lot of agave and pepper. It also has a bit of a bitterness to it. Finish: The finish short with only light pepper and fruit. It has a slight medicinal quality to it as well. A decent finish, but nothing special. The reviews are normally tasting notes for drinking it straight. I can add that this is a phenomenal mixer for cocktails so that will factor into my score. It's a good value sipper, but it's not something that I would bring to share with close friends. A good value buy to have around to mix, but that's about where it ends. ]]> Sun, 27 May 2012 03:07:19 +0000 <![CDATA[El Ultimo Agave Tequila Blanco: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1959 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/blancos/discussions/review.html?id=1959 I was impressed with this one. Bought a bottle for $16.99 at Topline Liquor in Glendale. Clear in color, for $16.99, you simply can't go wrong with this one, especially now in these hard times. It has a sweet entry and I'd go so far as to say it's very worth the money, definitely a great value. A very good sipper, even for new tequila drinkers. I'd say the presentation isn't so great. Not a turn on, especially since they are from different NOMS. But, if that keeps the price down, I'm game! Aroma: A buttery, fruity nose of grapefruit, and raspberry. Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel. It's sweet with a very slight bitterness. Initial taste was grapefruit. Body: A nice warm agave body, followed by grapefruit, earth, and clove. Finish: A semi heated finish of medium duration with a fruity lingering. ]]> Thu, 05 Feb 2009 21:13:07 +0000
