Nose is a sensory blast of earthy green agave, light vanilla, and sharp citrusy notes. Mouthfeel is big and full, both creamy and oily - incredibly pleasing. Taste is a giant bold wallop of agave, citrus, some vanilla, some woody sourness - again, very big and full. Finish is a 102-proof attack of heat and pepper, setting a wonderful fire on the tongue, leaving rich notes of agave, citrus, and some burnt sugariness way in the back that seems to last forever. Not for the faint of heart, this tequila has all the classic Casa Noble profile hallmarks, but turned up to 11. If you love the repo, you'll go nuts for the Joven. An absolute stunner. Can this be their finest achievement? ]]> Wed, 18 Jun 2014 21:49:04 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2958 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2958 Good, clean, and clean tasting tequila. Great on my wallet, great in a margarita, and easy on my head when I overindulge. Too bad I have to travel out of state to purchase it. Agavales' twin brother, Morales, is available locally. ]]> Wed, 17 Jul 2013 21:47:24 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Dragones Tequila Joven: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2789 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2789 Oprah is full of it man...I've tasted $22 bottles of tequila that walk all over this stuff!! Perhaps I built up WAY too much anticipation (due to the hype and price) and it made the disappointment all the more bitter, but paid full price...and I cried myself to sleep over it!! ]]> Mon, 07 Jan 2013 10:58:53 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Dragones Tequila Joven: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2350 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2350 I work at Specs and my vendor gave me a glass. Aroma was light with slight citrus and floral notes. Taste was light as well, every smooth. It almost goes down easy but its lacking a lot. I'm glad I had the chance to try this but I would never buy a bottle for the price its just not worth it. ]]> Thu, 15 Mar 2012 05:13:06 +0000 <![CDATA[Casa Dragones Tequila Joven: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2169 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=2169 Bought at specs just before thanksgiving. I wanted to splurge and get something nice for the holidays. The packaging is nice, simplistic and somewhat modern. I read that it is a blend of blanco and extra anejo and was excited to see what that would taste like. The aroma was super light and I could smell a bit of agave. Flavor was the same, very light with some agave and citrus and this kindof burnt sugar at the end. I even checked the bottle to see what the alcohol volume was, just seemed watered down. I spent over 250 dollars on this, and it left me disappointed overall. I could have bought about 6 bottles of tequila that I know I would like. Oh well, live and learn. Next time I will sample something before spending that much. Would not buy again. ]]> Sun, 11 Dec 2011 17:16:15 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold 110 Proof: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1849 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1849 Agavales Gold * Tasted January 2011 * Riedel Tequila Glass Appearance: light straw - slow tears Aroma: vegetal, asparagus with light agave and citrus Initial Taste: peppery agave Spirit Body: hot, agave with lemon and olive Finish / Aftertaste: heated finish, burnt orange and light mint aftertaste ]]> Mon, 21 Feb 2011 07:59:18 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1322 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1322 I am the bartender in a Mexican restaurant with a vast selection of quality tequilas and we now use Agavales as our house tequila for margaritas. Prior to this was Sauza gold and believe me, this is a HUGE step up. When I first saw the bottle I was certainly thrown off, but don't let it fool you. Luckily we don't have the plastic bottles, but the labels are quite cheap looking. For a 100% agave tequila the price is unbeatable. It is still considered a "gold" tequila, artificially colored and unaged. Its actually palatable by itself, the flavor is decent and considerably smooth, with a very short and hot finish. Throw this one back, don't spend too much time sipping it. Definitely suited for cheap margaritas for those who like to add sweet and sour, etc. Also available in a quite potent 110 proof variety. ]]> Fri, 18 Dec 2009 06:44:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Agavales Tequila Gold: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1319 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/joven/discussions/review.html?id=1319 This is probably the best 'margarita' tequila I have come across. But then I'm one of those who doesn't see the reason in drowning a top shelf tequila in lime juice and triple sec. We drink a lot of margaritas and have used Cazadores, El Jimador, Hornitos, Muy Especial, Sauza, Jose Cuervo (yuk!), Don Julio, Cabrito and Milagro and we like Agavales the best. About the only bad thing about it is that it comes in a plastic bottle so I always feel a little dirty buying it. But for $20 for a 1.75l bottle of 100% agave tequila, the feeling goes away quickly. I highly recommend this tequila for those making margaritas or other mixed tequila drinks. ]]> Thu, 17 Dec 2009 18:50:05 +0000
