Bought at Trader Joe's for $20. It sounds like they may have re-formulated this brand because others reviewing it refer to it as a mixto. My bottle and label are different from the picture above and clearly labeled 100% Blue Agave. The aroma is very much vanilla-like in my estimation. I don't put much stock in my nose anymore, but the taste confirms the vanilla flavor. It doesn't taste real alcoholy--not too much burn, but my nose does pick up a good amount of the alcohol. Used as a sipper, it's pleasant and grows warm and fuzzy inside, but not the best tasting I've had. For this price point you can't expect a top notch anejo. For sipping I'd look for something a little more sophisticated, more taste, and little smoother, but for margaritas it's more than fine. The bottle is well presented, but I'm more partial to corks than screw tops like this one. There's just something more authentic to a cork, even if it doesn't make the juice taste any different. For $20, which is my specialty, I'd buy it again but for special occasions, let loose with a little more cash. Salud. ]]> Fri, 26 Jul 2013 02:56:46 +0000 <![CDATA[Sauza Conmemorativo Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=2394 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=2394 As far as mixtos go, this isn't a bad option. Aroma: A decent amount of agave on this nose along with a chemical/alcohol smell. Initial Taste: Sweet and syrupy. Body: Tasted like a mixto. Some agave, wood...and something else. Finish: The trademark Sauza "burn." None of their tequilas don't finish with an alcohol numbing. This one is no different. If you're looking for something readily available for under $20, you can do worse. However, you're better off planning ahead and buying and holding something better so that you're not forced to choose among the 5-6 bad tequilas that a local store might have. ]]> Fri, 30 Mar 2012 02:53:48 +0000 <![CDATA[Sauza Conmemorativo Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=2082 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=2082 I was hoping for this to be an economical sipper. That's just not happening with this tequila. Very pleasently surprised at the smell, crisp without an overpowering alcohol presence. This anejo lacks the full body flavor of better anejo's and does have an alcohol burn to it. This stuff does however make for great mixed margaritas. A couple ounces of this with some lime juice and tripe sec and you have a very good drink. Definitely better than the low end tequilas, it is shy of being premium in my opinion. ]]> Fri, 23 Sep 2011 00:34:34 +0000 <![CDATA[Sauza Conmemorativo Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=1136 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=1136 I love a great Anejo and when I found this bottle I thought I would give it a try...I was very smooth and the finish was ort of quick...It makes wonderful Tequila Sunrises and Margarittas and for the money you can't go wrong ( $24.00 )750ml...Not 100% blue agave, but not bad... ]]> Tue, 19 May 2009 11:00:58 +0000 <![CDATA[Sauza Conmemorativo Tequila Anejo: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=653 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/mixtos/discussions/review.html?id=653 Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo, NOM 1102. I tried this tequila for the second time after enjoying my 1966 vintage so much. Conmemorativo might have even been 100% agave at that time. I enjoyed this spirit in my Cognac snifter for Father's Day along with another. The nose displayed slight oak with medium alcohol followed by a slightly aged taste with mild sweetness. The medium body lacked the depth characteristically associated with most better anejo's. This was all followed by an abrupt, alcohol finish with relative smoothness. Missing were many of the discrete flavor elements that make anejo's & 100% agave tequilas so complex. ]]> Mon, 16 Jun 2008 18:58:26 +0000
