<![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado - Tequila.net]]> https://tequila.net/ <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: Pink Tequila...Strange, but worth a try...]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=3013 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=3013 Pink tequila. As far as I know, only AsomBroso makes a tequila aged in Bordeaux barrels and pink in color. I assume that it will add a flavor as dinsticnt as the color. While the flowers on the bottle and hue make it unlike anything else, I'm more interested in the flavor than anything else. Price: $35-40/bottle Aroma: Mixture of agave, oak and dark chocolate. Initial Taste: Some agave and thick sweetness. The chocolate flavor still has a large presence. Body: It tastes so different than a standard reposado that it's hard to characterize the flavors. The body is medium oily and it has some nice bitter oak flavors with some spice and the definite Tootsie Roll flavor. Finish: While I just mention the Tootsie Roll flavor in the rest of the review, the finish is almost identical to the chewy, chocolate candy. I don't know if this is how wine interacts with agave, but it's really interesting. The finish is easy going and the dark chocolate linger is long. While not standard fare, AsomBroso La Rosa is a tasty change of pace to a regular repo. This is especially true if you like a bit of bitterness and/or dark chocolate as the complimentary flavors. The bottle will, as always, be a discussion piece...as will the pink color. But solely on its merits on the palate, the tequila is worth checking out if the profile above suits your fancy. ]]> Tue, 20 Aug 2013 01:42:18 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2870 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2870 The nose of this is not overly complex but it is unique with a lot of cherry. The initial taste gives you that cherry flavor as well. Th body like the nose isn't complex but a bit different? The finish is nice but not exceptional. Overall this was enjoyable and unique but not exceptional I would recommend for someone looking for that unique experience but not a purist. ]]> Wed, 15 May 2013 05:18:08 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2559 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2559 It's a phallic pink bottle...not what I usually bring home. I bought it because it was cheap. I'll try any tequila and this is my first experience with one aged in a wine cask. I like the AsomBroso line, so why not give it a shot, right? Aroma: Agave filled with oak and dark chocolate...almost like a Tootsie Roll. Initial Taste: Sweet agave with notes of chocolate and fruit. Body: Medium body. The sweetness is present throughout along with the oak and chocolate flavors. Finish: It's the most chocolatey tequila finish I've evver had in my life. I'm not sure why Burgundy casks would do that, but it's a really rish chocolate flavor. Not bitter at all. Kind of a nice change of pace. I should reference that I purchased this for $25 (I've seen it A LOT higher) and for that price, this is a very good tequila and one worth keeping around. This is not one that I would ever mix. The flavors are complex and smooth. Very interesting to say the least. ]]> Fri, 06 Jul 2012 03:45:23 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1876 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1876 I'd call this a Mexican cognac. This tequila is thick and sweet. The sweetness takes away the burn of the alcohol. Aroma: Mostly sweet agave with delicate red wine in the background taste: sweet thick after taste: toffee then sweet oak My girlfriend liked it, I didn't hate it. I'll probably buy it again. ]]> Sat, 12 Mar 2011 19:13:27 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1416 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1416 its ok, but i will not buy again, way over priced, ]]> Fri, 12 Mar 2010 23:46:36 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1306 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1306 I bought it for the same reason everyone else probably has, the color and bottle. The aroma was superb, very much like the Burgundy barrels it was rested in. The taste was certainly not up to my standards. Very medicinal and sharp, with very little agave flavor. A stronger burn going down than I like, yet no after burn. I will not buy this again, it just wasn't that good. Just the uniqueness of the bottle and the color got me to buy it ]]> Fri, 13 Nov 2009 20:46:01 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1044 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1044 Tasted at home in Reidel Tequila glass, room temperature Initial scent is light Agave mixed with a light sweetness. It is very easy to sip, with no burn at all, rare for most reposados, especially a 3mo. There is little agave taste, its faint but its there. More prominent is the sweet taste, its not strong, but it does hide the already light agave. The finish has a toffee/caramel flavor finishing as smooth as it started. This is definitely not your normal tequila. The pink color, light agave, sweet flavor and sweeter finish are all out of the norm. The sweetness and smoothness are what attracts me. These attributes are not what I look for in all my tequilas, but there are a select few that do it right, and this is one of them. The bottle is nicely done, an elegant shape with handpainted flowers. Sure there is a complaint that the bottle has a phallic shape, but I only saw this after it was mentioned elsewhere. I accept the bottle for what the creator intended, to resemble an antique English decanter. This is a bit pricey for a reposado, no doubt due in part to the fancy bottle and heavy advertising the company does for the brand. However going strictly on taste, I would pay the $50 (in western MA) any day. ]]> Sun, 22 Feb 2009 20:32:41 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1020 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1020 Bought this in Indiana - a small bottle (375 ml I think) on sale for $20. I was surprised to enjoy this as much as I did. I prefer anejo's typically, but this was quite delicious. The nose is floral, but even more than that was a smell that took me back to childhood - it smells like Bazooka bubble gum (well, at least a strong presence anyway)! The initial taste goes along with the sweet smell, but I actually like the sweet presence of the bordeaux barrels with the agave - a very nice blend for me. I actually thought there was a nice agave presence and was happy with that. The finish was good with a nice little burn, but I'm interested to try the longer aged reposado they have - I think I may enjoy that more as it probably has a little smoother finish and overall taste. I'd highly recommend trying this if you have the chance - if nothing else it's a pretty unique tasting tequila, and it made me want to try other AsomBroso products. ]]> Fri, 06 Feb 2009 17:06:30 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=746 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=746 My sister-in-law happened to notice the bottle first, then the color of the tequila in the bottle. So far so good, even knowing my wife and her are wine and tequila drinkers this process of aging the tequila in oak barrels used for wine was too hard to resist. Then the tasting begins and neither male or female could believe how terrible this was. Stay with the traditional barrels and allow the tequila to at least come through the flavors. ]]> Thu, 07 Aug 2008 18:06:58 +0000 <![CDATA[AsomBroso Tequila La Rosa 3 Month Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=308 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=308 I did not like AsomBroso La Rosa; but my wife did. For me, I guess there was something "off" about the flavors. It's probably the red wine barrels used to age the tequila that, for most people, is the draw of this tequila; but for me it created a tequila that had too much fruit and sweetness and not enough agave. That is probably what my wife loved about it. The only 2 tequilas she will drink right now are 1942 and now AsomBroso Rosa - so she likes very light, very sweet, and very smooth. If that is your speed, then maybe AsomBroso Rosa would be a good tequila to try. For me, I'll pass. ]]> Mon, 20 Aug 2007 16:24:59 +0000
