Nose is somewhat sharp but pleasant. Initial taste has a very sharp agave flavor with some oak but then mellows into a very smooth finish. First tequila I've tasted that has had this type of taste transition. The flavor consists mostly of cooked agave, wood/oak, vanilla, caramel, herbal notes and some earthy tones. The Corralejo line is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. ]]> Sat, 25 Jul 2015 17:51:21 +0000 <![CDATA[Corralejo Tequila Reposado Triple Distilled: This one pushed me into tequila nirvana]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=3162 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=3162 This triple distilled repo was my go-to sipper for years. This was due, in part, to the fact that my neighbors and I picked up on it before many others did in Pennsylvania. In PA, the state system buys in bulk and as a result generally gets better prices. This one had to be ordered in a case (6) each time. Initially, it was priced at $22/750ml out the door. After more than a couple of cases (maybe 6), it doubled in price. The secret was out. This repo is worth every penny of $40 it generally gets in PA. Super smooth, great nose, not too heavy feel. This one is a sipper. If you see someone mixing with this, politely ask for the bottle before more damage is done. Unadulterated, with a lemon chase if preferred, is best. This one will win over many converts. ]]> Tue, 31 Dec 2013 23:01:58 +0000 <![CDATA[Corralejo Tequila Reposado Triple Distilled: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=984 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=984 Tequila Corralejo Triple Distilled Reposado NOM 1368. Tasted in a Riedel glass on 1/15/09 at my home Tequila Bar. Very attractive collectable blue cobalt bottle. Light straw in color. At first I felt that the nose was somewhat compromised perhaps due to the triple distillation process with only a hint of floral overtones and shortness of legs running down the sides of the Riedel. My concerns were soon eliminated by the initial taste. The first sip starts with a tart yet sweet agave flavor followed by a light alcohol attack which grows stronger with a very pleasant peppery and herbal-like finish. I have allways enjoyed the Corralejo line of flavors and side by side the double distilled Reposado has a totally different flavor with a stronger emphasis on earthy agave and sweet caramel flavors. In my opinion this triple distilled reposado would pare very nicely with almost all types of Mexican cuisine due to it's ability to stand up and cut through the bold spicy flavors. ]]> Thu, 15 Jan 2009 17:17:44 +0000 <![CDATA[Corralejo Tequila Reposado Triple Distilled: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=187 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=187 Corralejo Triple Distilled Reposado NOM 1368 Tasted 3/19/07. With a pale yellow color, Corralejo Triple Distilled Reposado has intense aromas of floral and fruit. Mild aromas consist of earth, spice, and smoke. The tequila has a low bitterness to it and a sweet aftertaste. Initial flavors are intense earth and smoke. There are also moderate floral and agave flavors. A numbing alcohol intensity and a long duration of flavor bring this tequila experience to an end. This tequila received the rating of B/B+. ]]> Sun, 27 May 2007 17:44:30 +0000
