Every time I drank it I experienced a new taste. It was great. It was gone in no time though. This was my first non blanco tequila aside from some mini bottles here and there. The price on here is perhaps outdated or I just got really lucky when I bought it for $31.99. I would purchase this tequila again and would probably pay upwards of $50.00 if I had to. ]]> Thu, 19 Dec 2013 03:28:10 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2620 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2620 Very disappointing tequila. The flavor was sharp, not smooth at all. I expected much, much more from this premium-priced tequila, and everyone I've shared it with has agreed that this is not worthy of the high price, nor the very high reviews it has received. Avoid this one. ]]> Mon, 13 Aug 2012 21:46:47 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2601 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2601 NOSE Quite smooth, creamy & soothing. An instant impression of quality & something 'new world' & modern. Strong agave notes, vanilla, oak, spearmint & touch of earthiness & spice. Overall quite clean & mature. PALATE Semi-sweet agave, vanilla, wintergreen & intense spice. Quite rich with a nice density & assertiveness. The spice level builds with time on the tongue - black pepper, almost like cinnamon & black licorice. The overall sweetness level is fairly pronounced yet never overdone. Some heat but easily within check. BODY Nicely oily & mouth coating. FINISH. Vanilla, mint & spice remain -but becomes almost instantly dry, earthy & salty. Reasonably long. NOTES A well designed & crafted spirit. Supposedly a blend of repo, anejo & extra anejo - the extra age/maturity shines through. The oak influence is apparent yet subtle, coming through mostly in the finish. I dig the vanilla & anise flavors throughout & the mouth feel is spot on. In a perfect world the sweetness level would be a tad lower (10%?). Reasonably priced to boot. Opens with a touch of water - less heat, more earthiness, more salt, more bitterness & seemingly more assertive spice. ]]> Tue, 31 Jul 2012 21:51:33 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2594 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2594 Very nice, go buy a bottle...it's worth it. ]]> Tue, 24 Jul 2012 21:28:18 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2518 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2518 I must admit I was apprehensive when I saw clear reposado. But I quickly fell in love. This is a very smooth, delicious and very pleasant tequila. I would recommend to anyone to try. 10x better than the overrated, over priced popular Patron(Leave on the shelf). This great taste I would rank right up with Dos Lunas and Tres Generaciones as my favorites. You can mix it. But I prefer to leave in the freezer and shot/sip. No watering it down in shakers with ice. It's sweet, smooth with very minimal burn if you even want to call it that. The finish is as pleasant as the beginning! The listing here says $70-$100 a bottle. I been able to find $35-$38. I wish I could afford to drink everyday. No use wasting time or money for anything else. ]]> Sat, 16 Jun 2012 21:19:47 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2231 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2231 A clear reposado. Sounds like another marketing gimmick, but inside is a pretty good tequila at a pretty good price @ around $35 a bottle. The smell is sweet and pleasant. Lots of vanilla, agave and spice. The taste matches the smell with a sweet start, not too much alcohol burn and a short and smooth finish. It definitely has the smoothness of something that has been well rested. I've used this to sip and to mix. It does the trick for both nicely. A good tequila at a good price that can be used for many purposes. A great tequila for people new to tequila as well. ]]> Wed, 18 Jan 2012 07:59:44 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2147 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=2147 Opened the bottle several months ago, just poured a small glass, took a sniff and had a very nice aromatic experience. First whiff was like I was smelling vanilla cake frosting - but not nearly as sweet, and with a nice subtle agave scent too. Also smelled of spices, and hazelnut. Nice long tears. Entrance is sweet and somewhat light, but it's complexity is obvious shortly thereafter. It is not quite thick, or oily, but a very nice body - vanilla, spices, cinnamon, light smoke, and licorice. Also, a very nice agave presence - not detectable if you drink it down quickly, but it's definitely there. Smooth finish with a perfect cinnamon/earthy/sweet/agave finish that I thoroughly enjoyed. The bottle is beautiful and I actually think they do quite a good job of following through with a great product inside. Nicely done and very enjoyable. ]]> Fri, 02 Dec 2011 01:48:10 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1594 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1594 Outstanding tequila, a superb mix of 3 kinds of the best tequila that Casa Cuervo can offer...very light but strong pasive flavors, a very good smell that use to grow, outstanding mix and filtration process.....92 out of 100 ]]> Fri, 02 Jul 2010 21:58:02 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1414 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1414 This is very good, but I will say that it being so clear it was messing with my mind,it looks like a blanco, says its reposado, but tastes like anejo. i think it tastes more anejo. ]]> Fri, 12 Mar 2010 23:38:13 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1149 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1149 Tasted out of a double ball glass. I was eager to try this one. The whole visual of it (clear in color and being a 'reposado') really had me intrigued. I can't say I was 'wowed', but I was very pleased. Even though all the aromas and tastes were more subtle than I anticipated, it's still a good tequila, even if it doesn't seem like one. I think it makes a very good sipper. I wouldn't mix this one. Like I said, all the aromas and tastes were more subtle than any other tequila I've tasted: Aroma: An aroma of pine, earth, slight smoke and earth. Initial Taste: A soft entry, a thin mouth feel with no bitterness. An initial taste of herbs. Body: A 'creamy' agave body, with compliments of earth, and slight vanilla. FInish: A nice slightly heated finish with a lingering of earth cinnamon. ]]> Thu, 04 Jun 2009 10:27:46 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1050 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=1050 Tasted at my local Tequila bar, 1.5 oz. room temperature in a mini snifter. The initial scent smelled more of nail polish remover than agave or anything else. Fortunately the taste did not follow suit. However I thought this to be a weak tequila. There was nothing outstanding taste-wise. Everything was subtle and, quite frankly, it didn't taste like tequila at all. My friend, who also tasted it, mirrored the other reviewer's observation: "That tastes more like vodka" Overall I feel this Maestro falls flat. It isn't bad, but it isn't even close to the full flavored style I like. Its also fairly expensive, $70 in Western Massachusetts. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't bother with it again. ]]> Sun, 01 Mar 2009 11:12:57 +0000 <![CDATA[Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila Reposado: ]]> https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=873 https://tequila.net/tequila-reviews/reposados/discussions/review.html?id=873 Tequila Reserva del Maestro * Tasted 10-21-08 * Riedel Tequila Glass Appearance: very light straw, clear - full body and tears Aroma: mild alcohol, light nose of fermented grapes, coffee, oak and vanilla Initial Taste: sweet nut and chocolate, mild spice Spirit Body: fruit and butter, hints of vanilla and mint, thick and warm Finish / Aftertaste: warm and smooth finish, medium chocolate and mint aftertaste A unique and mild spirit, containing many smooth aromas and flavors, minus the standard Agave attributes. I was eager to try it because the premise sounded good, the blending of the best of reposado and anejo tequilas for a great flavor experience. I was dissappointed as I expected much more complexity of flavor for the price. The bottle is certainly stunning but the product was smooth, almost vodka like in it's character. I just expect more flavor out of my tequilas. It was ok, just not what I expected. The filtration must have taken flavor out as it stripped the color from the product. Then again I thought maybe they are going for the light, flavorless idea. I would love to hear what others think. ]]> Tue, 14 Oct 2008 11:19:24 +0000
