This is the last of the 7 brands/ages for me to taste (Don Fernando is also produced there). Then I guess I'll just have to wait for them to make some more.

Aroma: Hravy nose of earth, oak and wet clay. The agave is still there, but it's faint by comparison.
Initial Taste: Earthy agave entry with heavy pepper notes.
Body: Medium body. Lots of oak and earth overshadow the agave and any sweetness gained from the aging process.
Finish: Kind of a bitter finish with the oak flavors and the earth. It's medium length with a nice pepper sizzle, but not a great finish overall. Probably a tad too bitter for even those who like a more bitter finish.

This tequila is definitely a miss for this NOM. The flavors overshadow the agave. The wood dominates and it is pretty bitter. Even though the presentation is nice and the price is decent, I can't recommend going out and getting this one. The blanco and anejo are much better choices.
