Personally I am a blanco guy, because of the agave presence but upon pouring myself a nice glass of this beautiful honey colored anejo, I could not help but notice the strong vanilla and hazelnut aromas which emanated from the bottle and my glass.
The initial taste is smooth and sweet, slight honey flavor, but as you breathe it opens up, but remains smooth throughout and there is a strong vanilla and hazelnut presence in flavor. It has a medium body, in fact it seems a bit light for an anejo. The finish is medium long and leaves a sweet pleasant flavor in one's mouth. No alcohol burn whatsoever.
Hands down one of the smoothest and most unique tasting tequilas, that have ever crossed these lips.
The bottle is ok, but I do not like the plastic screw top. I feel like cork would have done it more justice.
I received this bottle as a gift and even though I cannot see myself spending over $100 for a resposado or an anejo, this tequila definitely deserves your time and attention.
