Slightly thin in the Riedel glass with quick thin legs and a lovely gold copper colour - clear and bright. Nose is super-light but eventually yields up baked agave, dried fruit and very mild wood. Initially it is semi-bitter... there is no suggestion of sweetness. Agave and oak aromas blossom in the nose, while the body offers the same round bitter agave against a mineral and clay back note. Finishes nicely with candied fruit, wood and minerals. Orto Azul Anejo is a surprisingly dry presentation, considering the blanco and reposado. This is a worthy anejo, but some may feel it lacks dimension, particularly in the nose.
