Tasted out of a snifter on 01/06/09 at home. Purchased a bottle for $28 bux. In these tough times, I'm always on the look out for the best buys I can find. $28 bux is a good darn price for an anejo. I liked this anejo more than their reposado, but for me, the differences were not as 'contrasty' as I would have thought there would be between a repo and an anejo from the same line. Still, a good showing. I've always thought Don Agustin to be a consistent line.
Aroma: Very pleasant nose of honey, fruit (berry), and caramel.
Initial Taste: An oily mouth feel, upon entry it's sweet with no bitterness. My initial taste was honey. A first for me.
Body: An oaky agave body, with lighter hints of fruit (berry again), and smoke. Not too complex, but it works!
Finish: An unheated, semi sweet finish of short duration. Not something I usually get!
