What a surprise!! This tequila is very good to say the least. The nose is wonderful with all the vanilla and caramel. It goes down very smooth, it's bold, yet mellow. I was treated to this at my local liquor store for $29.99 a bottle and so far I've bought 3. I'll be back for more. Give this tequila a try, you won't regret it!!! ;-)

I asked a friend of mine to pick up a good bottle of tequila for me when he returned from his trip to Mexico City. Upon his return, he presented me with with this beautiful metal fronted wooden box. Inside the velvet lined box was a bottle of El Jimador Anejo, and it was obviously a limited edition. The box itself had a wonderful aroma, a hint of things to come. The tequila has a rich deep color and outstanding aroma. Taking a sip, it is very smooth with lots of tequila flavor coming through without the burn or bite. Really one of the best tequilas I have ever tasted. Highly recommended, do not pass up the chance to buy this El Jimador if you see the lovely box on the shelf!

Excellent anejo for its price point. Im a big fan of the anejos that come out of this distillery. I think this is a great anejo for new anejo drinkers.

Aroma: A nice rich nose full of cherry, floral, and slight cinnamon.
Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel. There's no bitterness upon entry and the first taste is cherry/wood.
Body: Agave, cinnamon, slight spices, and slight earth.
Finish: An unheated finish with a sweet cherry/woody lingering.

As I'm writing this review the overall rating for this tequila stands at 93, ranked above anejos from Don Julio, El Tesoro,
Chinaco, 7 Leguas, etc. It is clearly not better than these tequilas, so it must be the price talking. This tequila is fine without any real negative qualities, but also without much that stands out either. I would consider it almost the minimum I would keep in my liquor cabinet for sipping and I have to admit it would probably gather dust for that purpose in favor of some of the aforementioned brands and others. My first and only bottle of this tequila I sipped maybe 3-4 times and made margaritas out of the rest. It makes great margaritas by the way. If you are selecting anejos based on price, this one is a winner. I haven't tried any anejos as good in its price range.

Very Good taste (maybe the best) for the price (here in México), deep oak flavour and dark color, smells good and taste better, certainly is very good and it's not the best, but for the price is totally worth to try it. Bottle is similar to a whisky one, that an elder personality.
