My first experience with the Cava de Oro brand. I had now knowledge of anything about it, but the price was right and I liked the hand blown bottles.
Aroma: Very basic aroma of sweet agave, citrus and a little extra sweetness like vanilla.
Initial Taste: Sweet agave. That's about it.
Body: Medium body, semi-oily. A nice mouth feel that allows you to taste the agave and fruit with only a very minor pepper flavors.
Finish: Not that much to speak of. Fairly short in duration and pretty mild in terms of spice finish. No burn to speak of at all...very smooth.
This is a pretty good entry level tequila. The price is under $30, the bottle is nice looking and the flavors are such that it won't scare away new folks to tequila. The finish is also fairly mild. All in all, a pretty darn good buy. I'll be on the look out for another tequila from this brand.
