Another day, another new brand. El Capo means "the boss" in Spanish. This Tequila makes the claim of being the "Boss of bosses." Quite a claim in a crowd with an awful lot of bosses.
Aroma: A nice and basic cooked agave nose with hints of citrus of white pepper.
Initial Taste: A light and sweet agave flavor. Light citrus and grassy notes as well.
Body: Medium bodied. Agave is complimented by the grassy and bell pepper notes. Vegetal, but it’s a sweet vegetal.
Finish: The bell pepper and grass linger a medium length with just hint of peppery kick. The green notes definitely linger the longest.
A very pleasant blanco sipper with nice citrus, vegetal and pepper notes. The price on this one is very solid too. The distillery (NOM 1173) obviously knows what it is doing since it has been around for over 70 years. Is this blanco the boss of all tequilas...probably not. Is it a solid all-around blanco option for the price...absolutely.
