Tasted in a caballito on January 23, 2008 showing long and lasting legs down the glass.

Corralejo Reposado

Color: light yellow color
Aroma: lime and honey
Taste: agave, honey, peppercorn, light wood with an oily body, long smooth finish with a mellow burn

For the price I rate this Corralejo Reposado as a lighter alternative to the Casa Noble Reposado

Corralejo Reposado NOM 1368 Tasted 4/8/07. The tequila is a very pale yellow color. Beginning with intense earthy and floral aromas, the deeper aromas include moderate spice and a hint of smokey and fruity scents. On the tip of the tongue there is a mellow and soft sensation that is followed by a sweet, low bitter taste. Upon tasting, the tequila has intense floral, earth, fruit, and agave with moderate spicy and smokey flavors. Corralejo Reposado tequila finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity. Overall, I rate this tequila at the B/B+ level.

I've been drinking Corralejo Repo in my Palomas for about 6 years now. It's one of the few Reposados that I used for mixing because it has such strong Agave flavor.

An incredible agave nose that beats a lot of others than I actually enjoy more than Corralejo.

The body is on the lighter side of medium with lots of pepper and fruity zest. The Finish is clean with a slight burn of sharp alcohol on the exhale.

Corralejo is back to being 100% agave. It dropped that label for a few years. From the story I heard, there was an agave shortage and they went to 70% blue agave for that short time period.

Pricing is nice. Should run in the low to mid $30's.

The triple distilled repo has a lot of the same taste characteristics with less "bite" than the standard. If drinking straight, I would recommend the Triple distilled. It should run about $15-20 more.
