Scorpion Mezcal Tobala Añejo is produced from 100% Estate Grown Tobala Agave from Tlacolula, Oaxaca, Mexico. The Tobala Agave is artisanal / steam cooked, distilled in a copper pot still, and aged in French Oak for 22 months.
The Tobala variety of Agave is considered the king of Mezcals in Oaxaca, Mexico. Tobala Agave typically only grows wild in the Sierra Madre mountains in southern Mexico. Master Distiller, Douglas French, collected wild seed in 1996 and is growing the wonderful Tobala Agave on his own plantations.
