Aeroplano Tequila Reposado
Aeroplano Tequila Reposado begins with the selection of the best Agave, the cooking of the heads of the Agave made in century old masonry ovens. Our fermentation process uses the best and highest quality yeast, followed by a double distillation, and ending with a double filtering process. Tequila Aeroplano is aged between 3 and 11 months in white oak barrels. Each step is carefully done and supervised by our "Maestro Tequilero", creating an exceptional Tequila.
Origins of Aeroplano
In the year of 1939, the pilot Anton Branif took off from the port of Veracruz, Mexico bound to the port of San Blas, in his 5-AT trimotor with the cargo of fine linens and other merchandise. Flying over the state of Jalisco when a heavy storm forced him to make an emergency landing on a dirt road beside an Agave plantation of a small Tequila hacienda.
After a few days repairing the airplane and site-seeing the hacienda and surroundings, he had the opportunity to taste the Tequila the hacienda was producing at the time and recognized to be one of the best Tequilas in the area for its quality, flavor and for its elaborate and exquisite artisan way of making Tequila.
Anton Branif was so impressed and enchanted with the Tequila that he kept doing regular flights to trade and export Tequila to different places of America.
