After trying the blanco, my expectations were high. I was expecting something sweet and fruity, but this surprised me with something totally different.

Aroma: Light agave scent with hint of fruit. Big time nose of butter and light vanilla. A great opening.
Initial taste: The buttery agave presence continued. Slight hints of vanilla and fruit made for a really nice, smooth entry.
Body: Medium body and not really at all oily. The entire line has a bit of a thin mouth feel. A touch of oak and pepper compliment the other flavors nicely...as should be the case in a good reposado.
Finish: Not a memorable finish, but certainly a good one. A touch of spice, a touch of oak and a touch of sweet. A nice finish to a good all around tequila.

This is an above average reposado. Nice mix of flavors that all work well and never seem to be fighting. Very easy to drink and a very nice finish. The bottles are hand blown and classy looking. I'd recommend the entire line for the price.

For the price I wasn't expecting much, just a good solid reposado...I was very surprised how smooth and tasty this is. The after taste is great, nice hint of vanilla, oak and agave, no heat on the finish at all.
I will definitely be buying more of it.

Tasted in a rocks glass on May 24, 2008 sticking to the side of the glass with with very to slow lasting legs.

El Conquistador Reposado

Color: light golden brown
Aroma: baked honey ham
Taste: sweet agave syrup with a hint of wood, medium mouthfeel that had a short burn numbing the entire mouth

The El Conquistador is the sweetest reposado I have tasted up to this point. I use agave syrup in my cocktails and it tasted as though I poured some into a blanco and mixed it with an oak stick from my BBQ. If you use El Conquistador in a cocktail I would recommend cutting back on the sweetner or drinking it neat alike a desert wine (Tequila). My three favorite reposado at the time of this writing have to be still Sol Azul, Casa Noble & Corralejo.

The hand-blown bottle is fantastic, but the real prize is the Tequila itself. A blend in the nose of wood, agave and vanilla that is matched on the palate with medium-length pleasant finish.
