I don't love reposado's so it's a little tough for me to rate them accurately. I've tried to rate this compared to other rep's.

I tried this on ice, straight up, and in a snifter. Mild floral notes, and a definite presence of smokey wood in each. There is a fairly strong alcohol presence, but not as strong as some other rep's.

I experienced a medium duration finish with a definite numbing of the tongue for quite a while. Overall, if you're going to drink a rep I think this is as good as any. The wood is not overbearing, but does take the edge off the alcohol flavor.

My least favorite from the Patron line. Reposados are generally my favorite and this one does nothing for me. Very little taste, pretty smooth and no character. I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, but at $40+ a bottle, there's far better options out there.

even though these reviews are critical, they still overrate this tequila, tequila should not have any undertones other than that of the wood from the barrel it was stored in and maybe a bit of a smokyness from the roasting of the agave, other than that, no this shouldn't have vanilla or caramel undertones, the fact that it does means that theres something done to this tequila that should not be done in the first place, this is a highly overrated tequila, who's only great quality is the bottle it comes in, i lived in mexico city for 2 and a half years, and i went to a lot of clubs and nice bars down there, and i will tell you, no locals order patron, only reason i can fathom buying a bottle of this, is cause im having a party and the one girl who's pants i want to get in, likes it, other than that leave it to the hip hop artists, and movie stars, cause at least they have enough money to throw away

Patron Reposado NOM 1492 Tasted 7/25/08. On this date I tried this tequila at the Davis Graduate Tequila Bar using a snifter. This tequila is pale yellow in color and has intense aromas of earth and floral. There are also moderate aromas of fruit and spice with mild smoke and hints of vanilla. A mellow taste on the tongue with slight heat/burning sensation leads to a sweet tequila experience with some bitterness. The Patron Reposado flavor contains intense earth with moderate to intense agave and floral flavors and moderate spice and chemical flavors. The tequila also has mild intensities of fruit and wood with hints of vanilla. Patron Reposado finishes with a long duration of flavor and a numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila has been awarded the overall rating of 83/84 points out of 100.
