Slightly thin in the Riedel glass with quick thin legs and a lovely gold copper colour - clear and bright. Nose is super-light but eventually yields up baked agave, dried fruit and very mild wood. Initially it is semi-bitter... there is no suggestion of sweetness. Agave and oak aromas blossom in the nose, while the body offers the same round bitter agave against a mineral and clay back note. Finishes nicely with candied fruit, wood and minerals. Orto Azul Anejo is a surprisingly dry presentation, considering the blanco and reposado. This is a worthy anejo, but some may feel it lacks dimension, particularly in the nose.

Initially the first scent had me worried, all I could smell was an alcohol burn.
Fortunately, there was none of that in the actual taste. It was very light and went down easy, with virtually no burn at the end.

A good all around tequila, fairly affordable in the Western MA area approx $47

Found this tequila in a small liquor store in a very small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It was $70.00 for a bottle but I bought it because I had never heard of it before. Very smooth and fruity. Drank it faster than any bottle of tequila I have ever bought. In June (2008) visited the distillery in Jesus Maria (Jalisco)and obtained my second bottle. Wonderful.

The aroma of this tequila is very fruity with pear, melon and grapefruit. The initial taste is oak, vanilla, caramel, and sharp cheddar cheese. While the body is tangy and slightly oily, the finish is quite smooth, easy on the tongue with a fruity agave flavor and slight alcohol burn. At the time I purchased this bottle I paid $40, I think it's a very good price for this well made tequila. The presentation is a very well designed, heavy bottle. Overall this tequila is now in my top 10.
