Tasted out of a snifter. With a golden amber color, this anejo is very pleasing to my taste buds. it's also very reminiscent of ET Anejo. Go figure, right? Actually it makes sense that it would. I paid $7 for the snifter, yet I see a bottle can cost up to $55 dollars at some liquor stores. A bit overpriced if you ask me. You could find an anejo of equal quality for a cheaper price. Yet, it is a darn good anejo. Aroma: A very present nose of fruit and vanilla with lighter hints of smoke. Initial Taste: A thin mouth feel with a sweet entry. An initial taste of citrus (grapefruit). Body: A cooked agave body, followed by citrus (grapefruit), spices, and vanilla. Finish: A semi heated finish of short duration, with a total vanilla lingering aftertaste for me.

I really enjoy this. I was expecting it to taste more like El Tesoro since they share owners, but it actually tasted less wood flavored to me than that, and was strikingly resembling of Don Julio anejo. In fact, I would describe it as Don Julio with a little softer flavor, and less of a bite at the back of my throat as I swallow, so a touch more smooth.

The other reviewers have said it well - floral, vanilla, smoke and carmel present in the nose and flavor. Nose is a little astringent for my liking, but as I've said before, I don't drink tequila for the smell.

Very smooth, yet still a very nice agave presence, and not too much wood flavor. I really like this and would consider stocking it as my go-to anejo over Don Julio. That's saying a lot for me, but as I said, I really enjoyed this.

I like the bottle - my wife and a lot of other people have commented that they like it the most of all my collection (which is quite extensive) - and the cork is nice too.

Trago Anejo NOM 1474 Tasted on 4/4/08 at 9:10pm. I tried this tequila at the Grad Tequila Bar in Davis, CA and tasted it in a snifter. With a golden amber color, this tequila has intense aromas of smoke and spice with moderate to intense earth. Other aromas include moderate floral followed by mild vanilla with hints of caramel and fruit. The tequila has a thin mouth feel (for an Anejo) and on the first sip is sweet with no bitterness. Trago Anejo has intense flavors of caramel on the back end followed by moderate notes of agave, fruit, vanilla, and wood. With a long duration of flavor, tastes of mild floral and earth bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Trago Anejo has received the rating of 89 points out of 100.

A really good anejo with nice complex flavors and a finish that makes you want to come back for more. It's not a syrupy anejo at all and retains a lot of the flavors that make you love a blanco.

Aroma: A nice fruity nose (both citrus and banana) with vanilla and agave.
Initial Taste: The sweetness of the agave and the citrus fruit give it a really nice initial taste:
Body: A light golden color for an anejo. It's a bit more thin than a lot of other anejos as well. You keep getting the agave and fruit, but light wood and spice get added to the mix as well.
Finish: A nice long, lingering spicy finish. The aging did not take the pepper notes away this one at all. It hangs around for a long time and it's very good...and makes you want to have another drink.

For $40 a bottle, this is a really good value. I like the square bottle look, but it doesn't exactly scream authentic. The contents inside are indeed authentic though.

Nice medium body, golden anejo with delightful aromas and tastes. Smooth with a nice fade and a pretty handsome bottle to boot. A little on the expensive side, but worth it. Definitely one I would buy again.
